Small-Business Optimism Reaches 45-Year Peak

How are small-business owners feeling about the economy these days? Better than ever, apparently. The Small Business Optimism Index, which gauges small-business owners’ sentiment about the general economy, is at the highest level since the index was created in the early 1970s. The index peaked at 107.8 in May 2018, as small-business owners anticipate strong sales to continue, their businesses to grow and the economy to expand.
