Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows Houston’s job growth is picking up momentum. Though recent growth was spread across sectors, rebuilding from Hurricane Harvey, which flooded Houston just over a year ago, is influencing the metro’s recent economic expansion pace. Looking at the Construction sector going back to fall 2017, job change was very slightly negative. That then flipped back into positive territory at the end of 2017, and the pace of additions is continuing to accelerate.
