Las Vegas Visitor Volume Edges Up in June

  in   Insights

The number of people visiting Las Vegas continued to climb in June, marking the sixth consecutive month-over-month gain. Still, visitor volumes remain well below pre-pandemic levels. Las Vegas hosted nearly 3 million visitors in June, up 3.2% from the previous month and up 179% from the same month one year earlier. However, compared to the pre-pandemic level from June 2019, the number of visitors to Las Vegas was down 18%. In early June, Las Vegas hosted its first major trade show since the onset of the pandemic, with the World of Concrete, dedicated to the global concrete and masonry construction industries. With more people visiting Las Vegas in recent months, jobs are bouncing back. The Las Vegas market added 107,800 jobs in the year-ending June 2021, with nearly half of those positions returning to the Leisure/Hospitality Services industry. In addition, the market’s 12.8% job growth rate over the past year was the nation’s leading performance among the largest 150 apartment markets.
