Summer Student Housing Market Update Webcast

Now Available On Demand

Early leasing season performance indicated weaker-than-typical activity across the student housing industry. Whether due to overall weakening demand or perhaps students choosing to postpone their decisions on future living arrangements, the end result is that the industry has a lot of ground to make up to get back to normal performance levels. Easing construction activity and the potential for a modest enrollment bump in the coming year may help offset some of the tapering demand at individual schools, however, which could offer some encouragement for some of the most distressed campuses. Investor appetite for this product segment remains in good shape. Join RealPage analysts Greg Willett and Carl Whitaker for an analysis of the nation’s student housing performance as the Fall 2021 leasing season moves into the home stretch.

Discussion topics include:

  • Student market fundamentals, reviewing Fall 2021 leasing activity, rent growth, supply, and demand
  • Long-term market drivers and their impact on the most recent forecast update
  • An overview of capital markets, including what’s behind the recent increase in investment
  • Performance highlights at some of the nation’s key campuses
