Conventional Multifamily
Series: Market Update

Market Intelligence: Q2 West Coast

Join RealPage® analysts Carl Whitaker and Arben Skivjani for an update on the nation’s West Coast multifamily markets from San Diego to Seattle.

At one point, the West Coast was one of the country’s lagging rental regions, but recent performance has showed far more promise for its expensive coastal metros. Meanwhile, the neighboring inland markets like Riverside and Sacramento are beginning to moderate after excelling throughout much of 2021.

Is the performance shuffle part of a near-term rebalancing in the region, or are there broader themes at play indicating that something more than a short-term rebalance is in the works? Additionally, what opportunities lie ahead, and how are those opportunities affected by the region’s headwinds?
