In 2003, Joseph partnered with experts in marketing research to co-found J Turner Research. The company offers customer insights that empower multifamily companies to advance their businesses. With its extensive portfolio of products, survey programs and online reputation assessment (ORA™) score, J Turner Research enables clients to enhance customer satisfaction, increase closing ratios, improve online reputation, and optimize resources. J Turner Research surveys more than 170,000 residents and prospects and tracks the online reputation of more than 59,000 properties nationwide across all review sites on a monthly basis.

In his role as J Turner Research’s president, Joseph oversees the company’s strategic growth. He has been engaged as a panelist and presenter in the industry for several years with speaking engagements that include presenting in the 2009, 2010, 2012 NAA Education Conference and 2010 NAA Student Housing Conference, as well as participating as a panelist for the Multifamily Executive’s General Session on Concept Community for five consecutive years since 2012. He currently serves on the Houston Better Government Fund and is a graduate of the Michigan State University.

Jay Parsons serves as Senior Vice President, Chief Economist for RealPage, leading the Economist and Industry Principal teams to provide deep insights on market trends and consumer behaviors. He is a frequent author and industry speaker on topics affecting multifamily apartments and single-family rentals, including rental housing investment and asset management strategy, rental housing policy issues, risk mitigation and property management.

John Hinckley

John Hinckley, CEO at Modern Message (a RealPage company), is a born entrepreneur who has focused the past 15 years creating technology-based solutions for multifamily real estate.  He was the Founder of IRIO, the first text messaging solution for multifamily and student housing.  He spent the past 8 years leading Modern Message which is best known for creating the #1 resident engagement and loyalty app for apartment communities in the United States called Community Rewards. With a track record in building successful startups, he is committed to the advancement of new ideas and disruption within the world of apartment technology. Mr. Hinckley is a 2004 Business major graduate from Baylor University and currently lives in West Plano with wife Kate, and 3 children.

Rich Hughes

Senior Vice President, Data Science, RealPage, Inc.

Rich Hughes first entered the data revolution with apartment owner/operators AMLI and Archstone for over a decade, and is now head data scientist with RealPage. Hughes believes that today’s winners in complex, asset-intensive, service-based industries—from Amazon to apartments—have discovered the operational trifecta: over-delivering on promises while keeping the operation streamlined and affordable. He spends his days creating centralized command and control capacity for apartment operators, mainly regional managers, to streamline their operations through better and faster decision-making. He does this by analyzing data to predict outcomes, giving apartment operators prescriptive recommendations that are mathematically solvent and intelligence that is continually learning.
