Just a few years ago, demand drivers and apartment performance in the Northeast region encountered difficulties as remote working options became the new norm. More recently however, there’s been a shift to returning to the office, and local development hasn’t been as extreme as the supply boom that has been observed in the other regions of the country. Rent growth is well above the nation average and occupancy continues to surpass what’s considered the fully occupied mark. Investment volume has been cut in half as the capital market environment continues to pose challenges for one of the most expensive regions in the nation.
