(January 2, 2007)—RealPage, Inc., a leading provider of products and services to the multifamily industry, today announced the release of a new version of its Mobile Service Requests application that will allow apartment staff to expedite unit turns by providing critical make ready data to maintenance technicians in the field.
Part of the OneSite© Facilities system, Mobile Service Requests allows apartment maintenance staff to manage service requests using handheld devices, improving the quality, accuracy and timeliness of maintenance data. The new version streamlines the make ready process on the handheld devices, enabling technicians to quickly see all outstanding requests for units on the make ready board and immediately take action on the tasks.
“Instant access to make ready information is essential to improving utilization, increasing efficiency, and benefiting the overall effectiveness of maintenance operations,” said Ranjeev Teelock, vice president of affordable housing and facilities management for RealPage. “The Mobile Service Requests system provides property managers real-time updates on their maintenance services and helps them realize significant competitive advantages by enhancing the management of units.”
The new version features a make ready view that displays additional details of service requests on the handheld device, so technicians instantly know which residents made the requests, which staff members created the requests, and what tasks are left to be done before units can be turned.
“The make ready board is a great service for a busy maintenance worker—it is as easy as sitting at the computer without actually having to take the time to do so,” said Chris Shields, maintenance manager for Douglas Allred Company. “The added information really helps the technician have a better understanding of the service request. Adding the name of the person who created the request makes it easier to find out more information when needed.”
