Lumina Model Connect is Realpage's MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. Once connected, Claude or ChatGPT can answer questions about your own portfolio — facilities, leases, financials — in plain English, pulled live from Realpage.
Lumina Model Connect works with Claude. It is also available for ChatGPT, and additional AI assistants will be supported in the future.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant connect to an outside system — a database, an app, a service — and use it directly inside a conversation, instead users copying data back and forth by hand. The assistant sees a small set of tools the system exposes (for example, "look up a lease" or "check delinquency") and calls them itself when a question calls for it.
You sign in once, the same way you would to any other connected app, and the assistant only ever acts within what your account is already allowed to see and do. Realpage's MCP server — Lumina Model Connect — exposes read-only access to your own portfolio data this way.
What it does
Every question is automatically scoped to the companies and properties your Realpage account already has access to — you never tell it which portfolio to use, and there's nothing for an administrator to configure per user. Answers come from live Realpage data, not a static export, so they reflect what's true right now.
There's no way to run arbitrary database queries through it — it only answers within the domains listed below, using vetted queries built for those questions.

Every conversation starts with a routing check, then hands off to the tool for the domain your question falls under: Document Management, Facilities, Financial Management or Property Management.

Add the connector
Claude
- In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- Search the connector directory for "Realpage Lumina" and select it.
- Click Connect. Claude redirects you to Realpage Unified Login — sign in with your Realpage account.
- Review the permissions and click Allow.
- Start a new chat, turn the connector on, and ask a question.
ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins.
- Search for "Realpage Lumina" and select it.
- Click Connect. You'll be redirected to Realpage Unified Login — sign in with your Realpage account and approve access.
- Enable the connector in a chat and start asking questions.
Authentication & data privacy
Signing in occurs through Realpage's own Unified Login page — your Realpage password is never shared with Claude or OpenAI. Only a limited access token is issued to the assistant, and every answer is filtered to what the signed-in user is already permitted to see in Realpage. Lumina Model Connect is read-only: nothing an assistant sends back to it can change data in Realpage.
