Enrollment Retention Shapes Student Housing Performance

The success of student housing product is largely dependent on a university’s ability to grow and sustain its student body and, subsequently, influence apartment demand.

In a new report, Sarah Simmons of Axiometrics, a RealPage company, analyzes data from 175 top U.S. universities in an exploration of the relationship between student housing performance and qualitative measures like six-year graduation rates, acceptance rates and freshmen retention rates.

“These statistics … have an impact on the student housing industry: They all drive enrollment, which in turn drives student housing demand,” Simmons writes.
