Riverstone Residential Group Selects the RealPage Cloud to Expand IT Services

|

(July 15, 2010)—RealPage, Inc.(www.realpage.com), a leading provider of on-demand software and services to the rental housing industry, today announced that Riverstone Residential Group has selected the RealPage Cloud to manage most of its Information Technology (IT) functions.

“The RealPage Cloud is a data center dedicated solely to the multifamily real estate industry,” said Jason Lindwall, president of RealPage Cloud Computing. “In addition to hosting RealPage applications on hundreds of physical servers with more than 600 terabytes of storage and redundant connections to the Internet, we also offer hosting services for many popular third party accounting platforms and enterprise applications including Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Communicator.”

According to Ty Brewer, former CIO of Riverstone Residential Group, “We selected the RealPage Cloud for a number of reasons. First, they understand our industry and have deep resources with knowledge about all of the applications that we use. Second, they have deployed redundant data centers that support 30,000 locations and more than 75,000 unique users per day, so we felt comfortable with their experience in cloud computing and their ability to meet the rigorous SAS 70 compliance objectives of our institutional clients. Finally, the RealPage Cloud includes comprehensive change and problem management methodologies with extensive diagnostic monitoring capabilities, which gave us comfort that our entire suite of applications would run faster and be more extensible than any other option that we considered.”

According to Walt Smith, CEO of Riverstone Residential Group, “The RealPage Cloud offers us additional opportunities to expand the IT services we offer to clients while reducing our overall IT costs. It also gives us flexibility and freedom to select any third-party application partners and integrate them into Yardi Voyager and RealPage.”

“The goal for Riverstone Residential Group is to provide maximum operational efficiencies and performance for our associates, clients, and residents. The highest level of applications performance, speed, reliability, and systems integration is crucial,” added Smith.

About the RealPage Cloud Infrastructure as a Service

The RealPage Cloud IaaS allows an owner or fee manager to outsource data center and applications hosting to a managed service provider with the economies of scale and expertise that can drive cost down and improve overall performance and reliability. Corporate IT departments are under increased pressure to provide more services for less cost, a challenging task when technology costs are rising and IT professionals can be difficult to find, train, and retain. RealPage is addressing a need by clients to cut cost and improve the reliability and capabilities of tightly integrated solutions. Clients still retain control over their hosted environments, but by hosting these applications in the RealPage Cloud, they benefit from an infrastructure designed to enable high performance and tight integration with other applications.

The RealPage Cloud enables owners the opportunity to:

  • Reduce their hosting costs for many popular third party applications.
  • Rely on a real time disaster recovery center at no additional charge.
  • Improve application performance, due to extremely high-speed networks, servers, and storage area network arrays offered by RealPage. RealPage offers managed network services to thousands of locations around the country.
  • Realize improved and reliable integration between third party accounting applications, including all RealPage applications, as well as designated third party applications that run in the RealPage Cloud.
